Due to over 90 horses being balloted from Strathallan Castle Horse Trials the organisers have decided to put on an XC training day on Tuesday 29th July. Training will be from David Gatherer. The cost will be £40 per horse for a 90 min session in groups of 5 or 6 riders. Starting at 10am there will be an informal talk about the ins and outs of saddle fitting this will then move on to parctical demonstrations. You can have your saddle checked by the saddlers for £45 and if any adjustments are required they are abble to do this on site for a further £25. They will spend around 1hr per horse assessing and taking templates. There are facilities availble on site where your horse can stand while you are at the talk in the morning so dont worry you wont miss anything... There is also a large outdoor areana where the asessments can take place safely. An informal look at common mistakes and techniques to avoid making them. A BD judge and BHS II use ridden demonstrations at Prelim and Novice levels to highlight where points are frequently lost and can be gained.

Wednesday 13

The BBQ will be fired up and ready to go from 7pm. Come and ride whenever you like before that. This is an open event so bring along the family and friends. No booking required. From past experience this seems to be turning into a social night as much as a riding night so we hope to see a good turnout. BYO burgers (meat or veggie) to be cooked on the night but the club will supply rolls, cans and sauces for purchase. Please DO NOT muck out your horsebox or trailer into the car park. There have apparently been some people doing this and it only gets all horse riders a bad name. If you want to continue being able to park here and ride on the beach please be considerate towards other car park users.
