Annual Events:
The Annual WH/Sports Horse Show is the next event in the Polnoon Calandar. It takes place on Sunday the 27th of July @ Greenfields of Avondale just outside Strathaven. There will be three rings running during the day with everything from inhand to working hunter so why not have a look at the schedule below as there is sure to be a class for you to do..

Schooling,Training and Club Nights:
July is a busy month with schooling, club nights and annual events not to mention another Area1 qualifier.. There is a schooling evening booked with Andrew Hamilton @ Southmuirhead on Thursday 31st of July, three sessions starting at 6pm finishing at 9pm each with three people at a cost of £20 each. Another day session is also booked on Friday the 8th of August again at Southmuirhead. The first session starts at 1pm and the last session finishes at 4pm. This is for groups of two and the cost is £25 per person.…
There is a special open day organised for Sarurday the 2nd of August. There will be a talk and demo on saddle fitting, providing invaluable information on this tricky subject from Master Saddlers Leevalley Saddlers. The day will be held at Westkype Farm and will start at 10am with the talk and refreshments. This will be followed by a practical demo. If you would like to bring your horse along to have its saddle checked then contact Lisa for details. This day is open to all members and non members so why not bring along some friends for a horse day!!!..Check back for more information

Polnoon show jumping & style jumping teams
Our show jumping & style teams that traveled to Biggar for the Area1 qualifiers done fantastically well with both a novice team and the style jumping team both coming first. The Second of the qualifiers is the Area 1 Horse Trials in July.. If you would like to be part of a team and represent your club then please give Shona a call (number from the newsletter).
Members Points Show Jumping:
We have now had the first two of the four club showjumping nights. The best three scores from the four rounds go towards the Marksman, Idyll Art or Shand trophies which are presented at the club dinner dance in November.. A full update of how the points are looking soon

We are looking for helpers to assist set up and on the day for the annual events we are running..without helpers we cannot hold these events. If you would like to lend a hand then please email or call any of the committee members.

NEW CLUB AWARD - Members Record Cards:
This year we are piloting a new club award. It will be based on points that any members, even those that don’t compete can accumulate over the 2008 season. The points will be awarded depending on what event is attended and if help has been given to the club. Have a read at the explanation sheet below to find out how points can be accumulated and there is also a link to download one of the sheets that have to be filled out and handed in. So why not give it a go….
